The levels have been sorted out , the old lawn has been removed and the final touches are being made. It is important to ensure that all edging and most importantly streight borders, ie the pool paving ,house foundations, and othe streight edges are prepared properly. The first thing our eyes are drawn to are these edges that sorround your new lawn, if they are scew the entire excercise will be floored as it will be very noticable. The areas around the pool if not streight will also hold water and with a bit of help from the dogs and children will exadurate the problem resulting in a new set of problems and a compromised garden area. The soil in this particular area is very poor and sandy, and although sandy soils provide good drainage, they generally have a low PH. This problem can be sorted out by adding organic lime. Lime will increase the PH over a period of tima and assit with a sustainable lawn. You can also add some Super Phosphate to assist with the root developement, Here we use a combination of the three in our soil conditioner. Some of the composites are, chicken manure and wood shaving (good mulch and assists with water retention). Once this conditioner has been applied compact the area with a roller so as to ensure there are no cavities or uneven areas created by moving the soil around.
