Ellen Craft

Ellen Craft was a runaway slave. She was the daughter of her own master (common during those days). Since her father was white, she was born with much lighter skin than a normal African Slave. Taking advantage of her light skin, she disguised herself as a man, and went on a journey north to freedom.
