Acorn Ant Behavior 1:5

Workers of the acorn ant (Temnothorax longispinosus) colony displaying several behaviors, specifically: inspecting and grooming larva, self-grooming, drinking water, and antennating. The red color is due to red film over top of the nest's "sunroof". The film is put over the top to give the colony the illusion of darkness because they are unable to see in the red wavelength. :)
