Bo Tat Thich Quang Duc (Monge Budista suicidio)

Silent protest Thich Quang Duc, born 1897, was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk who is doomed to death on a busy street in Saigon on June 11, 1963. His act was repeated by other monks. As his body burned in the flames, the monk has remained completely immobile. Not screamed, even made a small noise. Thich Quang Duc protesting against the way that society oppressing the Buddhist religion in their country. After his death, his body was cremated according to Buddhist tradition. During the cremation his heart has remained intact, it was considered almost as holy and his heart was translated to the attention of the Reserve Bank of Vietnam as a relic. Protesto silencioso Thich Quang Duc, nascido em 1897, foi um monge budista vietnamita que se sacrificou até a morte numa rua movimentada de Saigon em 11 de junho de 1963. Seu ato foi repetido por outros monges. Enquanto seu corpo ardia sob as chamas, o monge manteve-se completamente imóvel. Não gritou, nem sequer fez um pequeno ruído. Thich Quang Duc protestava contra a maneira que a sociedade oprimia a religião Budista em seu país. Após sua morte, seu corpo foi cremado conforme à tradição budista. Durante a cremação seu coração manteve-se intacto, pelo que foi considerado como quase santo e seu coração foi transladado aos cuidados do Banco de Reserva do Vietnã como relíquia.
