Miraculous Appearance of the Cross above Mtskheta

The strange crucifix-shaped image was caught on a mobile phone camera in the town of Mtskheta--one of the oldest cities in the country of Georgia and the place where it accepted Christianity. Some local Orthodox Christians believe this was a sign from God, conveying a message of peace and conciliation after the riots in Tbilisi. In early November 2007 tens of thousands of protestors took to the streets to call for President Saakashvili's resignation and were brutally dispersed by riot police. Part of the dispersed crowd sought sanctuary in Tbilisi's main cathedral. The country's top clergymen, including the head of the Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church, Patriarch Ilia II, condemned the violence. The footage was filmed the same month. So far, there is no scientific explanation of the phenomenon. from 'Russia Today'
