Hebrides / Mendelsshon, Pablo Casals conducts (1-2)

Fingals's Cave Overture Pablo Casals conducts Festival Casals in the 1970s University of Puerto Rico Theater, Rio Piedras. Alexander Schneider first violin Jose "Pepito" Figueroa (behind Schneider) Henry Hutchinson, back row of violins (center). Casals was a great conductor! In his old age he produced wonderful recordings (Beethoven 7th, Mendelsshon "Italian" symphony #4, etc.) In this recording the internal details are lovingly and beatifully done. There is no need to rush things! Awesome!! Last part missing in this old tape. As a "filler" for the missing part I used my first LP record of this great Overture (Sir Adrian Boult) Note: The wind section may include member(s) of the former NBC Symphony Orchestra (Arturo Toscanini, cond.)
