CLICK HERE !! MORE INFOS !! Jean-Claude Van Damme Talk and Prays for BRUCE LEE interview. Bruce Lee documentary. April 28th 1993. 20 years after the death of Bruce Lee. NOTE : First it was Bruce Lee, and then 15 years later it was Van Damme who re-awoke the publics perception of the martial arts. The martial arts world is a lot larger because of the two. Van Damme admired Lees accomplishments specifically saying in a Canadian interview with noted karate expert Don Werener that: The number one martial arts superstar of all time was Bruce Lee. When I look back at him, I tried to model myself after him in so many ways. He was so fast, so technically excellent as a martial artist and in such great shape. He was really an excellent martial artist. COMPARISON : Both were mystically coupled in movie "No Retreat No Surrender" when the movie hero is inspired by the spirit of Bruce Lee to tackle the villain Van Damme in combat. _______ [TOP LEFT / BIOGRAPHY !!] http://www.fandamme.net _______ From the "Enter the Dragon" DVD Special Edition. Bruce Lee true story : http://www.chasingthefrog.com/reelfaces/brucelee.php . Bruce Lee died July 20, 1973 after falling into a coma. The coroner's report was inconclusive, and medical authorities came up with five reasons for Lee's untimely death. The Hong Kong official version by a panel of medical experts found that Bruce Lee, the fittest main in the world died due to hypersensitivity to the painkiller Equagesics components of meprobamate, a muscle relaxant, and aspirin. Lees death ruled as death by misadventure. Lees wife, Linda, accepted this conclusion. But, almost inevitably Lees death was followed by speculation and rumors. Lees younger brother, Robert Lee, believed some sort of foul play involved. No evidence surfaced to support his views. Nor any evidence that the Triads (gangs) had murdered Lee for his failure to pay protection money as was commonly expected of movie stars. Or that Lee was killed by jealous film rivals. Marijuana was found in Lees stomach following his autopsy, but only a trace amount. Lee had apparently ingested Nepal hashish, considered to be one of the most near-lethal strains of unrefined hashish. It is thought this combination of cannabis with the Equagesic painkilling tablet given to Lee by his girlfriend, Betty Ting Pei, caused his brain to swell considerably by 13% from 1,400 to 1,575 grams, leading to cerebral edema (excess water in cellular spaces of the brain). Bruce Lees family doctor, Dr. "Don" Langford and Lees neurosurgeon Dr. Peter Wu, contrary to the official ruling, believed that the cause of Bruce Lee's death was the result of his use of cannabis. Both Langford and Wu had treated Lee two month earlier when Lee had passed out May 10, 1973 at Hong Kongs Golden Harvest Studio where Lee was dubbing his voice for the movie Enter the Dragon. Lee had been rushed to a local hospital suffering from full-body seizures and cerebral edema. These symptoms occurred in his first collapse and were hauntingly again repeated on the day of his death. Dr. Langford (Lees physician) had said: "There's not a question in my mind that cannabis should have been named as the presumptive cause of death and that, "Equagesic was not at all involved in Bruce's first collapse." According to his wife Linda, Lee had no wish to live to a ripe old age because he could not stand the idea of losing the physical abilities he had strived so hard to achieve. "If I should die tomorrow," he used to say, "I will have no regrets. I did what I wanted to do. You can't expect more from life." A few days after Bruce Lee's body laid to rest Enter the Dragon had its premiere in Hollywood. The film was an instant hit in the USA and soon took the rest of the world by storm. Van Damme was a solid fan of Bruce Lee.
