Corbett draws at the Imperial Valley Mall Grand Opening

"Ever the optimist", says Corbett Vanoni as he dives into the terrifying deep end of retail caricatures at the brand spanking new Imperial Valley Mall, in his hometown of El Centro, California. After his exodus from Imperial county in 1999, Corbett bravely takes the bait from his old pal, caricaturist Sam, whom he met at the Fair years earlier watching Sam draw, and returns to the valley to try his hand at drawing publically. The seductive lure of rendering faces live without a net (or eraser) is certainly a scarey proposition for a newly minted caricature artist. Corbett waxes nostalgic as he discovers that the Jazz band he grew up playing his Trombone in, "Valley Jazz" (the creation of his musical mentor Jimmy Cannon) is performing at the same Grand Opening at the new Mall. Join Corbett as he dazzles the crowd with his scribbling skills, and unwittingly prepares for a career move in Minnesota years later with his new mentor, Tom Richmond; chief doodling monkey at Mad Magazine. Let the feces hurling begin!
