Richard Burton gave up his world for Elizabeth Taylor and loving her was the most important thing that he ever did throughout his entire life. He would have given up all of his riches. He would have given up all of his fame. He would have given up everything to be with her again. His unexpected 1984 death threw Elizabeth into a grieving period for which I am sure that she has never truly recovered from. Romances after Richard Burton simply were not meant to be.
