topographic map activity

MMS 6th grade creates a relief map as a follow up activity to the study of topographic maps. First seeing a clay island being submerged in water in a glass box, layer by layer (elevation), they then don gloves and mask for cutting up art board tracing of a land formation of their choice; most choose islands.
