Bangladesh Service Learning Experience - University of Manitoba 2009

Five students from the University of Manitoba took part in the 2009 Bangladesh Service Learning Experience. This program exposed the students to the field of development and the culture of Bangladesh. Partnered with RDRS Bangladesh, the students travelled to varying field offices where they studied the different project areas of RDRS, including: microcredit groups, TB and Leprosy treatment centres, birthing clinics, antenatal clinics, cataract and eye care centres, drop in centre for sex trade workers, education and social justice initiatives, as well as development projects in the flood prone region known as the Chars.
