National History Day 2007 - The League of Nations

On Monday, May 7th, 2007, my Public Forum Debate partner Rohit and I were entering the Quaterfinal Round at the Tournament of Champions in Lexington, Kentucky. That just so happened to be the same day that the state competition for National History Day was. Rohit Iragavarapu and Maeshal Abid's National History Day Documentary had already surpassed the districts level and advanced to state. Sadly, they could not participate in the mandatory interview questions because we were all in Kentucky. They had made arraignments with the head of NHD is Iowa to do the interview over the telephone, however no phone call was received. Obviously, this was to no fault of Rohit or Maeshal's. They expressed their concern to the Iowa NHD Director once we all had returned. After a series of conversations through email and phone, NHD ended up slipping by with a "sorry". That doesn't make up for the 50+ hours of work poured into this project by my friends. From gathering interviews to perfecting the content, they cared about this project heavily and created a video that I personally feel is a national contender (besides quick transitions). I felt it deserved it its place here at YouTube. So here it is, the video that failed to even make it to the final round at Iowa's National History Day competition because of some NHD bureaucrats who never showed Rohit or Maeshal a single ounce of respect... I guess there is always next year.
