Rakiura, 7 days on Stewart Island

7 Days on Rakiura (Stewart Island). Flying into Mason Bay. From here walking the Southwest Circuit to Doughboy Bay. Then over to the valley of the Rakeahua River spending the night at Rakeahua Hut. The next day was boggy start then on to the higher ground at the foot of Mt. Rakeahua past Freds Camp and camping at Duck Creek. Passing 'numerous swampy patches' of the Freshwater River we camped looking over the North Arm of the Paterson Inlet (Whaka a Te Wera). The last day was an easy walk into Oban and a cold beer!
