John Cocuzzi Sacramento Jazz Jubilee "St. James' Infirmary"

The camera caught this 3rd song of Cocuzzi's Pianorama set at the 2007 SACRAMENTO JAZZ JUBILEE. He gave the crowded ballroom a New Orleans piano version of "St. James' Infirmary," an early jazz classic adapted by Joe Primrose in 1930. The audience was familiar with the tune and hanging on to every note until the very end. Cocuzzi's piano influences include Jelly Roll Morton, Thomas "Fats" Waller, Mead "LUX" Lewis, Professor Longhair, Nat "King" Cole, and Erroll Garner. The Pianorama included other great pianists such as Eddie Higgins and Johnny Varro performing 20-minute sets. http://www.johncocuzzimusic.com Sacramento Jazz Jubilee (every Memorial Day Wknd.) http://www.sacjazz.org/jubilee.html This venue, the Sheraton Grand Nave Ballroom, was sponsored by Bank of the West. http://www.bankofthewest.com/
