The Lied "Sehnsucht" ("Longings") composed by Fanny Hensel Mendelssohn (Felix Mendelssohn's sister) to lyrics by Johann Gustav Droysen (1808-1884) - who was the Mendelssohns' friend and a professor of classical philology - begins the seconc group of 6 Lieder out of 12: "Das Madchen" ("The Girl") from the "Zwolf (12) Lieder, Opus 9" by Felix, together with Fanny. This Lied is No. 7. The other two by her are Nos. 10 and 12. The rest of this Opus belongs to her brother Felix, and forms "Der Jungling" ("The Boy"). The lyrics speak about a young person who longs for love but does not yet know whom she loves. Sung by Rosa (Vered) Wol, soprano, Piano accomp. by Riva W., Home-for-Aged, Ramat-Gan, 27.9.08
