Forked Deer for the Mandolin Cafe

I'm redoing this tune because I did not like my first effort. Forked Deer is another famous old time fiddle tune and as ususal it has many other names -- in this case some other better known ones are: Forked Buck, Forky Deer, Forked‑Horn Deer, and Forked Deer Hornpipe etc. The Fiddlers Campanion names many others. The tune today is usually play as a two part song in AABB format and is handy as an old‑time breakdown for dances. Bluegrass fiddlers love this tune and it is often heard in contests. It is played in D Major with standard tuning although some play it with a ADae tuning. Many of the older fiddlers had several more parts than the two that are commonly played in modern times and perhps that maybe be due to modern recording efforts. Some famous old tyme fiddlear like Wilson Douglas (WV), Roscoe Parish (VA) and Ed Haley (KY) played a five-part versions. I play it here on a 2002 Gibson F-5 Fern mandolin at 200 bpm in the Key of D
