Stanley Kunitz reads his poem "The Layers"

Stanley Jasspon Kunitz (July 29, 1905--May 14, 2006) was a noted American poet who served two years (1974--1976) as the Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress (a precursor to the modern Poet Laureate program), and served another year as United States Poet Laureate in 2000. I heard this read aloud on NPR the other day. It took me awhile to find it, but I couldn't put anything else up besides this man reading his own poem. The age in his voice makes the poem that much more meaningful...at least to me it did.
