Ronald Kirk - US Trade Representative in South Africa

In the past, many Africa countries have benefited from trade agreements with the US such as the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act or AGOA. But now under a new administration dealing with a global economic crisis, will the continent see more preferential trade agreements? Mashudu Masutha spoke to Ronald Kirk, US trade representative in South Africa about his government's relations with Africa under the Obama administration. He said that the new US administration was trying to extend relations with most countries.  As far as Africa was concerned, America saw that it could have more complex trade relations with the region, rather than just being an importer of commodities like oil.
