Unexpected Romance: Chapter Ten Part One!
Recap: Klarissa's dad locked her out of the house and she ran to Kevin, asking if she could stay with him.
[Kevin's pov]
I continued to hold Klarissa as she cried into my shirt. Of course I wanted her to stay with me, but I didn't know how smart of an idea that was. I think I'm beginning to really like her, I don't want to screw things up. But where else was she gonna go? Aww screw it.
"Of course you can stay with me." I said, watching her pull away, tears continuing to roll down her cheeks. "Thank you." she managed to say, giving me a quick hug. "Come on. Lets get you out of this rain." I said, pulling away from the hug, allowing my fingers to lace with hers.
We walked quickly, but in silence all the way back to the roller rink. We went inside, explaining to the woman handing out tickets and collecting money that we had already paid when we came before, and only needed to go in to get our friends. She wasn't buying it. Luckily Joe and Nick came through the door, McKenna and Kylie shortly after.
"Hey! There you guys are. Where've you been?" Joe asked, looking back and forth between Klarissa and me. "It's a long story. We just came back to let you know we're fine and we're going to go now." I explained, hoping Klarissa wouldn't start crying again. "Wait." Nick started, but I cut him off before he could say anything else. "Goodbye." I said, leading Klarissa back out into the rain, into my car. "Thanks for not telling them anything." she said, fixing her hair in the mirror. "Not a problem. So you in the mood for some hot chocolate and a movie?" I asked, driving back to my house. "Yeah. That sounds great." she said, a lot happier than she was 20 minutes ago.
Once we got to my house, I let her borrow one of my shirts and some sweatpants for pajamas. They didn't fit her the best, but it didn't matter. I made us some hot chocolate and made popcorn as the previews of the movie were playing. We decided to watch "The Haunting in Conneticut." I guess she likes scary movies. We were both sharing a couch and a blanket, our knees ocassionally touching. I kept pulling away, unsure if she was comfortable with it or not. At some parts I'm pretty sure I got scared more than she did. It only caused her to laugh which put a smile on my face. I think I was really beginning to like this girl, just as much, if not more, than Erica.
[Nick's pov]
Hmm. Very strange. Kevin was acting really weird when him and Klarissa came back. She didn't look happy at all. In fact, she looked like she'd been crying.
"What the heck was that all about?" Kylie asked, resting her head against my arm. She was too short to reach my shoulder. "I'm not sure." I said, grabbing her hand. "I think he raped her." Joe blurted out, holding Mckenna in his arms. "He did not! He wouldn't!" I yelled, soon making the connection that it did make sense. "I really don't think that's like Kevin." McKenna said, walking towards the door. Luckily it stopped raining. Now we could walk home without getting soaked. Kevin was our ride, but he already left. "Guys, really. Kevin's not like that at all. What happened with them is none of our business, lets just drop it, ok?" Kylie said, clearly aggravated. "You're right sweetie." I said, giving her a kiss on the top of her head.
When we got to Mckenna's it was already 11. We weren't sure what to do, but the girls went up to McKenna's room to get changed. Joe and I sat around downstairs, thinking of something we could do. We got nothing.
Part two up soon! :]
