Changing Toledo's economic outlook

Toledo's among the worst economic environments in the entire country Rep. Barbara Sears. She wants to change that. Rep. Sears, who represents Ohio's 46th district, and fellow Republican Rep. Lynn Wachtmann, who represents Ohio's 75th district, discussed about taking the deteriorating economy seriously Monday at One Government Center downtown. The two state representatives said the House Republican Policy Committee is in the process of introducing legislation that focuses on keeping students in the state after they graduate. There is also legislation proposed about small business reform. "We're looking at offering small businesses capital loans," Rep. Sears said. "This would be either zero percent or small interest, and these dollars are designed to be flexible so the state's not telling a business how to run its business plan." She also talked about a possible income tax elimination for college graduates who have done extremely well in school.
