UNITE HERE! Rejoins AFL-CIO: Local 57 Fights On

UNITE HERE! President John Wilhelm takes the podium of the AFL-CIO national convention along with members of Pittsburgh Local 57 to announce the union's request to re-affiliate with the federation. UNITE HERE! along with several other unions left the AFL four years ago to form the Change to Win federation. As a standing ovation rights out, newly elected AFL-CIO president, Rich Trumka, presents Wilhelm with a Charter. Meanwhile Local 57 members march on Levy Management offices of the David Lawrence Convention Center because of their refusal to let convention center employees who are members of UNITE HERE! join the delegation on stage for the historic announcement.
