Ukulele Lady (The Temperance Seven, with Peter Sellers )

This recording, produced by George Martin in October 1960, features the voice of Peter Sellers, accompanied by the Temperance Seven (and by some hisses and pops, dubbed directly from a scratchy 78-rpm record!) The original liner note is as follows: "Please do not return this recording to your dealer because you think it's got bumps and cracks in it, for this is a Novelty Fox Trot with Vocal refrain made, early Autumn 1927, in the Reading Room of the British Museum and only recently exhumed. This number will be treasured by all who have a taste for the macabre." "Ukulele Lady" was written in 1925 by Gus Kahn and Richard Whiting.
