Ten Political Values and Ideals I Hold

I believe we must better distribute our resources including wealth and invoke policies to eliminate the collection of excess wealth in the hands of the limited few. I believe all persons must have the right to free education at all levels. I believe in establishing quality social programs that provide healthcare, including preventative care and mental health programs that will be distributed equally to all. I believe all people have the right to adequate food, clothing and housing which includes utilities. All adult persons should have access to meaningful employment in accordance with their personal abilities. Persons should be paid a fair wage for that employment which takes into consideration the amount of physical exertion required and the number of hours worked. I believe in greater personal liberty. Government should have no control over the actions of adults undertaken with their own bodies be that sexual, physical, ingestive, religious or otherwise. I believe in the decentralization of government through increases in local government, community interest groups and community representation and that every effort should be made to make political involvement more accessible and attractive to all. I believe in the truly democratic election of such officials through a system which allows all candidates equal voice regardless of funding or party popularity and all adult citizens a vote, including the homeless, prisoners, immigrants and disenfranchised. I believe in the abolition of the current political party system which encourages members to tow the party line and decreases actual democratic action.
