Prime Minister, Robert Menzies' Speech

Recording of radio announcer and speeches from the Gala Opening Sidney Myer Music Bowl, 12 February 1959 the Arts Centre, Performing Arts Collection Under conductor Alfred Wallenstein, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra combined to play for the Gala Opening of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Sir Kenneth Myer, chairman of Sidney Myer Charity Trust, presented the Bowl to the Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Councillor F. W. Thomas. Prime Minister Robert Menzies then declared the Bowl open.
