the history of the jersey devil

i messed up in a few places where words should be other words. http://theshadowlands.net/jd.htm http://www.landofthedevil.com/ http://njdevilhunters.com/ http://www.the-jersey-devil.com/ http://www.elktownship.com/myth.html p.s. sorry if i used the speech system, if you can't understand it, here's what i have on there. hello, viewers. i'd like to inform you today of a creature spotted by many residents & visitors of new jersey who they call the jersey devil, with some interesting historic facts about life near the pine barrens. make sure to put your children to bed before watching this video, & if not, just hope they do not get nightmares from the information or grotesque imagry in this video. in the 1800's, the mother leeds of new jersey got pregnant with her 13th child, & if the child was to be born sick or unhealthy, she wishes it to be a devil. when the child was born on 1735, it became unhealthy, & the leeds family watched in fear, the child, in moments turning into what we know as now, as the jersey devil. it flew right out the chimney after it's transformation, & began haunting the pine barrens of new jersey. years later, it has been put to a halt for 50 years by an exorsist, or a priest. the 50 years after the exorcism, it awoke from the long sleep, & started to kill chickens in farms, & some residents found footprints, but it has been also spotted by Commodore Stephen Decatur, who claims during target practice shooting a cannon at it & had success, but just went through it undamaged. another sighting occured by Joseph Bonaparte, former King of Spain and brother of Napoleon while hunting during the same time as commodore stephen decatur's sighting. The largest spate of Jersey Devil sightings took place in January 1909, when thousands of residents of more than 30 towns in and around the Delaware Valley saw the fiend. one snowy day in burlington, strange hoof prints were found on almost every street, roof, & yard, putting many through a time of panic. The same week, in Jacksonville, hunters organized a posse, but their dogs were too scared to follow its tracks. In Gloucester City, a man watched the Jersey Devil cavort on the roof of his woodshed for 10 minutes. He described the creature as "three and a half feet high, with a head like a collie and a face like a horse. It had a long neck, wings about two feet long, and its back legs were like those of a crane, and it had horse's hooves." A telephone lineman working in a desolate Pines spot near Pleasantville was chased up a telephone pole by the Jersey Devil. He stayed there until a co-worker arrived and shot the Devil in the wing, wounding it. The Devil escaped into the surrounding woods. The Jersey Devil attacked a dog in Camden, relinquishing it only when the pet owner charged at it with a broom. The devil dropped the dog and flew at the broom-wielding woman, then disappeared over a fence. The monster had torn a chunk from the dog's flesh. In 1951, in Gibbstown, the bloody-faced Devil shocked a 10-year-old boy. A posse tried to hunt the creature down, but failed. Witnesses described it as a "hairy man" towering over 7 feet tall. In 1987, in Vineland, a German Shepherd was found chewed and torn apart, lying 25 feet from its chain. Around the body were strange tracks that no one could identify. if you want more information , visit the link of websites & text to your right hand corner of the screen. i hope you have enjoyed the video & have a nice day. & those of new jersey or whom live near the pine barrens, make sure you keep your doors locked, or the jersey devil might be sitting in your yard. once again, have a nice day.
