Music in Comedy: Keeping up Appearances/The Commodore

Hyacinth is to pick up a guest speaker to her ladies guild, a navy commodore, from the station. Before she sets off Richard is instructed on how to welcome him at the house for a few preparatory refreshments. At the station she first harasses the station master over not having access to the red carpet facilities. Then, on the platform, she thinks she ought to be able to recognise a commodore amongst the crowd by relying on her preconcept of what a seaman will look like but gets hold of the wrong man (who barely escapes her firm grip). In a final attempt to attract the real commodore's attention she resorts to the one stronghold that never forsakes her: music - with unexpected result...
