Gotan Project is a musical group based in Paris, consisting of musicians Philippe Cohen Solal (French), Eduardo Makaroff (Argentine), and Christoph H. Müller (Swiss, former member of Touch El Arab). Formed in 1999, their music is clearly tango, but also uses electronic elements such as samples, beats, and breaks. Sarah Lois Vaughan was an American jazz singer and is described as having "one of the most wondrous voices of the 20th century". She had a contralto vocal range. Nicknamed "Sassy" and "The Divine One," Sarah Vaughan was a Grammy Award winner. The National Endowment for the Arts bestowed upon her its highest honor in jazz, the NEA Jazz Masters Award in 1989.
