NXT Salinity Adjuster

We built a device to increase the salt content of a solution. This robot utilizes the Vernier Salinity Sensor connnected to the NXT. The purpose of the device is to increase the salt content (salinity) of a solution in a beaker. The program specifies a salinity level. Distilled water is in the beaker. The center stirring mechanism (held in place by a pulley system) is lowered down into the beaker, so the stirring rod and salinity probe are submerged. After the mechanism is lowered, the stirring rod begins to spin; it will do this for 10 full motor rotations. Then the stirring rod will stop and the claw holding the salt shaker is rotated forward, then back, adding salt. The process then repeats until the desired salinity is reached. When the specified salinity is reached, the NXT will beep, then the stirring motor will stop, and the center apparatus is pulled up until the mechanism presses an NXT touch sensor, signaling that the pulley motor should stop.
