near-infrared test (sony trv17)

I modified my TRV17 handycam so that when the NightShot lever was pressed the infrared-blocking filter would swing out of the optical path as normal BUT the microswitch that puts the camera in the restricted "NightShot" mode (green tint, iris wide open) would not be pressed. The result is some normal color reproduction combined with a lot of infrared, sort of like color infrared film. On most of these shots I had to tape a small plano-convex lens on the front of the regular one to get the camera to focus properly (that is the source of the fisheye distortion)
