We use a taxi, the Teleferico, horseback, and foot travel to make it to the top. Its an easy acclimatization climb before attempting larger mountains such as Cotopaxi. According to ECUADOR A CLIMBING GUIDE no one should attempt to climb Rucu Pichincha on account of robberies, assults and rapes that happen while attempting the climb.
