Working Windmill Woudsend, Netherlands

This was a dream come true for me. On a recent boating trip through the Friesland area of the Netherlands, I had a chance to tour a working windmill, still grinding wheat into flour. This was not a state-sponsored demonstration. This was a working mill, owned and operated by a miller and his wife, who ran the gift shop next door and sold the flour. The flour was also sold to the local bakery and a brewery. I learned how the mill operates. You will see the miller adjusting the sailcloth, winding part of it up as the wind increased in strength (it WAS really windy there).
