Zambia National Anthem with flag, maps, etc (national anthem lyrics in info section)

Zambia National Anthem, with Zambia maps, Zambia flag, Zambia Coat of Arms, etc. By Zambian.com (illustration) Upon independence in 1964, Zambia adopted the melody of Nkosi Sikeleli iAfrika (God Bless Africa), for the Zambia national anthem. However Zambia had different lyrics written to specifically reflect Zambia. The melody (tune) taken from Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika (God Bless Africa) hymn was composed by a South African, Enoch Sontonga, in 1897. In the colonial era Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika was the unofficial African national anthem in Zambia (then Northern Rhodesia), Zimbabwe (then Southern Rhodesia), Tanzania, South Africa, and a few other regions. The lyrics were different but they used the same melody (tune). At independence Zambia, Zimbabwe and Tanzania adopted Nkosi Sikeleli Africa's tune for their official national anthems. The tune also forms the first verse of the new official national anthem of South Africa. Zimbabwe used the tune until March 1994 when revised its national anthem. The following are the lyrics for the Zambia national anthem: Stand and Sing of Zambia, Proud and Free: FIRST VERSE Stand and sing of Zambia, proud and free, Land of work and joy in unity, Victors in the struggle for the right, We have won freedom's fight. All one, strong and free. SECOND VERSE Africa is our own motherland, Fashion'd with and blessed by God's good hand, Let us all her people join as one, Brothers under the sun. All one, strong and free. THIRD VERSE One land and one nation is our cry, Dignity and peace 'neath Zambia's sky, Like our noble eagle in its flight, Zambia, praise to thee. All one, strong and free. CHORUS (SUNG AFTER THIRD VERSE ONLY) Praise be to God, Praise be, praise be, praise be, Bless our great nation, Zambia, Zambia, Zambia. Free men we stand Under the flag of our land. Zambia, praise to thee! All one, strong and free. ZAMBIA NATIONAL ANTHEM IN BEMBA LANGUAGE (Bemba lyrics added by Eric Gondwe) (Bemba or Chibemba is the single largest indigenous tongue among Zambia's 70+ languages & dialects. Each Zambian province (state) has its own adopted principle Zambian language. There are therefore other Zambian language national anthem lyrics besides Bemba (e.g. in Tonga, Nyanja, Lozi, Nsenga, Luvale, Lenje, etc). FIRST VERSE Lumbanyeni Zambia, no kwanga, Ne cilumba twange tuumfwane, Mpalume sha bulwi twa cine, Twaliilubula. Twikatane bonse.
