Popular Culture Perpetuates the Hegemony of Capitalism

From the time we are too young to think for ourselves, we are inculcated with the beliefs and expectations of our society. Those beliefs, predicated on a capitalist regime, are spoon fed to us through the medium of popular culture which permeates our everyday lives. Is it any wonder then, that we turn out the way we do?
