B.R.A.S.S. Bike Month Rides at Baton Rouge - Velo Clio _2

On May 18 2008 (Sunday), 58 bicycle riders participated in an educational bike tour around downtown Baton Rouge. The ride was from 9:30am - 1:30pm. Riders learned about the early history of Baton Rouge, concentrating on the downtown area. Local historian and author, Mark E. Martin, discussed the development of the city from its inception to the early 20th century. Part of the ride also discussed urban planning and how the introduction of the automobile affected the physical space of the city.
