Character First at Metro Technology Centers

Each year organizations in the sectors of government /law enforcement, business, education, faith, and family are recognized by the Character Council of Central Oklahoma for their work in emphasizing and promoting good character throughout their organizations and in the community. Under Dr. Branscums leadership, over the last five years Metro Tech has implemented character education using the Character First! program throughout the district with faculty, staff and students, as well as sharing this information with our stakeholders. Metro Tech has been a leader in the work of the Councils Education Committee as it works with other area technology centers, higher education and the K-12 schools in central Oklahoma. Metro Tech and Dr. Branscum were honored by the Character Council of Central Oklahoma at its recent Character Awards Banquet with the education sector award. The theme for this years banquet was wisely lighting a path for others to follow. This beautiful lead crystal award with the laser-cut diamond resides in the display case in the entrance of the Business Conference Center for all to enjoy. We were pleased to be recognized along side our partners from the Oklahoma Business Ethics Consortium.
