Sigismund Thalberg could produce layers of sound "where the performer appeared as two and where the instrument gave birth to a new one" as Robert Schumann wrote. On one of his journeys to America Thalberg wrote this beautiful little fantasy on the originally Irish tune 'The Last Rose of Summer'. Thomas Emmerling plays.
