Extension Disaster Education Network - EDEN

The Extension Disaster Education Network conducted the first of seven national Strengthening Communities Agriculture Planning pilots in Las Cruces, New Mexico January 13-15, 2009. Over 100 emergency managers and others interested in agriculture security planning attended the pilot. NMSU and the University of Kentucky are the co-leads of the project designed to develop a model for counties to be able to use to develop a agriculture preparedness annex to their all hazards plan. Cooperative Extension Service nationally will have the model available to them after the last pilot in May, 2009.
