Roundhay Garden Scene

"Roundhay Garden Scene" is believed to be the first film ever created. It is the work of Louis Le Prince, who produced this very short movie lasting just over two seconds in 1888. The film was made on 14 October of that year at Oakwood Grange—the home of Joseph and Sarah Whitley—in Roundhay, Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. The individuals filmed are Adolphe Le Prince, Sarah Whitley, Joseph Whitley, and Harriet Hartley. Music for this silent film was composed by Joseph Dillon Ford and is taken from his Childe Henry's Booke of Excellent Adventures, scored for trumpet and piano (© Copyright 2006): http://www.newmusicclassics.com/childe_henry_music.html
