Nellie Melba.LAST RECORDING.LA TRAVIATA.Dite alla giovine.

Small Queen's Hall,London,17th.December 1926,with fellow Australian, the young baritone John Brownlee. The new electrical recording technique was used. Earlier that year in June, she gave her emotional Farewell Performance, at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden,London-----on my site, again, using the new electrical recording technique. In 1927 she returned to Australia, and died 1931. Her voice sounds absolutely lovely at the age of 65. Melba, the last of the 19th century tradition of bel canto sopranos,is one of only two singers with a marble bust in the foyer of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. The other is Adelina Patti. In that December 1926,four songs were recorded, but I only have two. To access all my Melba uploads just type ---lochness11 melba----into YouTube Search box,and they should all appear. Happy hunting!
