Protected Nördlingen is a dorf (town) in the Donau-Ries district in Bavaria, Germany. It was actually built inside a giant meteorite crater and stayed hidden below the horizon. Armies approaching it from afar might only see the tip of the tower where the watchman was posted. This town was also the place of two battles during the Thirty Years' War.
