America's only youth pipe band going to the World Championships 2008

This is the Northwest Junior Pipe Band from the Seattle area (Shoreline) in Washington State. The band is the only youth band from the United States (of 33 novice-juvenile and juvenile bands) going to the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland on August 16th, 2008. Here they perform their qualifier tune set after the band competitions at the Portland Highland Games for two very widely respected piping and drumming competition judges; Bob Worrall and John Scullion. Both judges spent 10 to 15 minutes talking with the band about their performance, as well as the kind of conditions and competition to expect at the championships. Tune set: Piper's Cave Earl of Mansfield Jenny's Bawbee www.nwjpb.org for more on the band. www.theworlds.co.uk for more on the World Pipe Band Championships. The band placed 1st of 24 youth and adult bands at the Perth Highland games in Scotland, 1st of 12 at the Crieff Highland Games, 3rd in the World Championship Qualifier and 5th in Novice at the World Pipe Band Championships 2008. Thanks to everyone who gave the band feedback, support, and financial assistance to send 30 youth on a trip they will not soon forget. Stay tuned to nwjpb.org for future plans for the NWJPB.
