Famous Principal Boy Dorothy Ward sings"The Same As We Used To Do"

From a Pathe short of 1931. No thigh-slapping or tight-wearing in this clip, but it is a nice example of Miss Ward's singing. Born in 1890, Dorothy Ward made her first appearance in Pantomime in 1905, playing her first Principal Boy (Prince Charming in Cinderella) the following year. Dorothy married equally famous and popular Pantomime Dame Shaun Glenville in 1911, and they continued to appear in panto together as mother and son, as well as in musical comedy, for the next forty-five years. She made her last appearance as Principal Boy in 1957 when she played Dick Whittington at the age of 67 - surely the longest-serving Pantomime Principal Boy in history! In this odd clip we see her in civvies, being romanced by a small boy - if you don't tell Social Services, I won't ... ! Dorothy Ward died in 1987.
