RIP Robert Mulligan

This scene from the never-released-on-DVD (or VHS) film "The Nickel Ride" (1975) shows director Robert Mulligan, best known for "To Kill a Mockingbird," at the height of his melancholy genius. Jason Miller stars as a "key man" who runs various mob-owned businesses in the sleaziest section of L.A. The film is a brilliant low-key noir that deserves a greater audience.
