Bank Imperial Commercials: Tamerlane/Банк Империал: Тамерлан

More than 15 years ago in Russia there was a bank called "Imperial". It was famous for its commercials that explored different aspects of world history. The bank is long gone but the commercials are still remembered by many Russian people. These short movies were real masterpieces. This is one of the most famous, "Tamerlane". The narration goes as follows: "The Tamerlane Empire, the 14th century. By Tamerlane's order, each of his warriors, when going into the field, had to leave a stone beside the road. And a mound grew. There was fire, and victory. And they would come back and pick up their stones. But there were stones left. Tamerlane rode last. And he would pick up the heavy boulders and speak to them, recalling their names. Tamerlane. The world history. Bank Imperial."
