Mikis Theodorakis, Costa Gavras - Z (1969)

The scenes of Gavras' classic film which are scored with the music of Theodorakis. (I had to leave out a couple of them to keep the video under 10 minutes.) Based on a novel of Vasilis Vasilikos, "Z" is about the assasination (1963) of Grigoris Lambrakis, a distinguished athlete, doctor and politician, as well as an active pacifist and humanitarian. The film depicts the way para-state and paramilitary mechanisms operated in Greece and the efforts of an honest investigator against them.
