A History of Communism: The Soviet Union, Part I (1917-1945)

The course of the world took a hard turn in the year of 1917, when the Bolsheviks overthrew the newly instated Provisional Government, the replacement of Czar Nicholas II. In five years, the Russian Civil War was all but over, and in the place of the Imperial Russian Eagle sat the Soviet Bear. From economic expansion under Vladimir Lenin to misery and slavery under Josef Stalin, this video aims to cover all the major events and points of the Soviet Union in the first half of its existence, ending at victory for the Soviet Union at the end of World War II. Segment Two, as of October 13th, has not yet been released, but will be shortly. Segment Two will cover the succession of Stalin all the way to the collapse of the Soviet Union. On a more personal note, this IS my first serious attempt at making a video for use on YouTube, and I hope that viewers find it at the very least enjoyable, and the most informational and helpful. I tried not to wind up having one of those 30-minute History Channel length flicks, and instead opted for something relatively short, but that still covered the basics and a bit more. Subscribe if you like, because more will be coming soon - A History of Communism will cover not only the Soviet Union, but North Korea, China, Vietnam, and more. After I finish this series, if it turns out well-received, I'll start on A History of Fascism or the like. I'm aiming to make neutral, unbiased, factual political videos for free distribution here on YouTube, to serve as a factual and informational venue for everyone, regardless of their political orientation. In the future, I'd like to go more in-depth on certain topics, such as the Soviet Union in World War II, the Space Race, certain leaders, such as Khrushchev and Gorbachev, as well as looking into the economic and ideological principles of communist and capitalist countries alike.
