Large Vocabulary Shorthand Writing on Stylus Keyboard

Imagine you can write words by just sliding the pen across the letter keys that makes up words on a graphical keyboard. For example: to write "that" just slide the pen from "t" to "h", etc. and spell out the word (without lifting up the pen!). This is a video companion to full technical paper on shape writing I co-authored and is published in the Proceedings of the ACM UIST 2004 conference. Reference: Kristensson, P.O. and Zhai, S. 2004. SHARK2: A Large Vocabulary Shorthand Writing System for Pen-Based Computers. In Proceedings of UIST (User Interface Software & Technology) 2004: 43-52. This technology is now commercialized by ShapeWriter, Inc. It is called "ShapeWriter". You can download it for the iPhone by visiting the AppStore and looking for the "WritingPad" application in the "Productivity" category.
