Clinton: Haiti on the cusp of stability and prosperity

United Nations, New York, 15 June 2009 - The United Nations new Envoy to Haiti, President Bill Clinton, says now is the best time for the country to escape its dark history. Speaking at a press conference at the UN Headquarters in New York, President Clinton told the media that the current political leadership of Haiti and the UN peacekeepers have "done a good job" of making the country a safer place. In his role as envoy, Mr Clinton says he wants to help Haitians take control of their own destiny.
