Woody

Woody ♂ Pet form of Woodrow, now also used as an independent given name. It has been borne by the American folk singer Woody ( Woodrow Wilson) Guthrie (1912–67) and the 1940s band leader Woody ( Woodrow Charles) Herman (1913–87). The American film director and humorist Woody Allen was born Allen Stewart Konigsberg in 1935; he adopted the name Woody in honour of Woody Guthrie.
