wicked

wicked Both OT and NT anticipate certain punishment for the wicked (Ps. 9: 17; Matt. 13: 49). It was a constant puzzle that the wicked prospered (Ps. 37: 36; 69: 4; 73: 3–12) and frequently there is the refrain that sooner or later they will be punished. Wickedness is a deep-seated evil in the heart (Jer. 17: 9) and is inspired by the devil (1 John 3: 12).
